This 45 minute program created by Music Together teaches children and adults to lean how to "speak music" - to take the musical instrument we have, ourselves, and develop that musical capacity from a young age. The sounds we make, our movements & rhythm, are the building blocks of music and of early childhood learning.
Enrol by the full term and received your family material (CD, book and APP code) with no extra cost.
As the babies gain hand, arm and trunk control and become mobile, we introduce new and stimulating activities. Our experienced teachers are sensitive to the strong emotional attachment these little ones are developing with their mothers, and each parent/child unit is nurtured according to their specific needs.
Our Tiny Tykes and their parents are led through a variety of beginning stretches, exercises, infant songs and dances, baby-safe rides and adventures, balance and agility skills, and introductory tumbling during this motivating program. A relationship to movement and physical activity begins to develop, as our Tiny Tykes discover their natural abilities and enhance their physical and cognitive development.
This is 50 minutes family music class which involves a lot of parent's participation and modelling active music making. We have dynamic music activities each week including finger play, lap song, free dance, simple percussion/instruments play... which teach parents how to be more active in making music rather than being passive and consuming music from media- This class is a mixed age group from 6 months to 5 years old which provides non-performance oriented, age-appropriate, supportive music learning environment for your children as well as you as parents! This stimulating program introduces balancing, tumbling, hanging and agility skills, which helps the children develop a love of physical activity and a sense of pride in their achievements.
At this age, a child's level of independent mobility will typically progress from aggressive crawling to running. Additional fine and gross motor skills developed during this stage include kicking a ball, building a block tower, riding a tricycle, and walking up stairs.
Our highly trained instructors shower the children with affection, as they guide our Waddlers in early social skills through interactive songs, choreographed dances, age-specific puppet shows, special rides, and a variety of swings and other original activities.
This special parent/child class is a highly recommended first Toddler Art Class. Twoosy Doodlers develop their sensory skills as well as fine and gross motor skills. They learn about colour, texture and more while experimenting with new, engaging materials.
Twoosy Doodlers develop:
The gross motor abilities of early 2-year-olds are often characterized by more confident running and jumping on two feet as well as an overall improved spatial awareness of their bodies. This is the earliest age group with which we work on fine and gross manipulatives in a structured format, as the 2 to 2½-year-old's attention span grows, allowing the child to focus for longer periods of time.
During this engaging class, the youngsters are elated as they sing, dance, swing, play games, watch puppet shows, take turns on special rides, and have "Surprise Time!" Our Gymsters feel great about themselves as they learn gymnastics in a constantly changing program with fresh ingredients and new equipment setups each week.
In addition to having fun with structured games, fascinating "Adventures," and pre-gymnastics, our Terrific Tots learn beginning sports skills, gain fine and gross motor proficiency, and strengthen manipulative skills.
The youngsters become more independent as teachers are now interacting more directly with them. Parental involvement is gradually decreased through inviting activities with love and understanding, and the children exude pride and self-esteem as they are treated like "big kids."
In this age group, teaching physical skills is a top priority. The development of social skills is also emphasized, as the youngsters become good listeners, follow directions, cooperate in a group, and learn more about themselves.
Mini Doodlers gleefully create their own masterpieces using a wide range of quality art materials. Mini Doodlers in our Preschool Art Classes develop skills important for school success such as fine motor skills, language, cognitive skills and the ability to listen and follow directions in our enchanting environment.
This is one of our most popular classes! Kids learn about painting on canvas paper, canvas board and stretched canvas using acrylics. They are inspired as they learn the techniques, style and vocabulary of such artists as Renoir, Mondrian, Laurel Burch, Jackson Pollock, Modigliani, Warhol, Sam Francis and Frank Stella.
With greater independence comes the ability to participate without the parent, and our Mighty Mites are lavished with positive reinforcement for self-reliance and following directions. Strength, flexibility, and agility are increased, as our teachers introduce gymnastic skills with the safest spotting techniques and communication through language geared to build self-esteem and confidence. Sensitive to peer pressure, these 3-year-olds are nurtured so tenderly and always with a success-oriented approach. Relays, more complex games, and beginning sports skills lead to increased strength, enhanced manipulative ability, and improved hand-eye coordination during this 1-hour program.
My Gym Ninja Training classes are designed to be fun and challenging while remaining safe and noncompetitive. Classes will focus on developing strength, stamina, and agility in relays, conditioning exercises, games, team-building and, of course, obstacle courses that change every week. Kids will be challenged mentally and physically, while instilling a mindset of overcoming adversity both inside and outside of the gym!
Rhythm Kids Level 1 is the next musical step for your preschool child (ages 4–5) with a parent or caregiver. Each week we drum, sing, dance, play rhythm instruments, and begin to play music-based games. Rhythm Kids Level 1 guides children toward developmentally appropriate music and movement activities, where they can begin to take charge, lead others, and be musically creative, as they:
make up their own drumming patterns
invent new ways to play rhythm instruments (shakers, sticks, etc.)
create movement ideas for songs
even take a drum solo!
Rhythm Kids Level 1 carries on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age eight. Classes are for preschoolers ages 4–5 and include:
10 weekly, 45-minute classes
Songbook and CD (2 copies) each semester
Access to online drum-play videos and other material
Children will:
Explore the world of rhythm through movement, instrument play, and song
Develop basic rhythm skills, like keeping beat, improvising, ensemble play, and soloing
Learn to create, cooperate, and express themselves musically
Drums will be provided for the class each week, but if you’d like your child to have a drum to play with at home (and then continue to use in Level 2 classes!), please ask your teacher about the special discounts on djembe drums that are available to Music Together families.
