My Gym was born out of our passion to teach children in a fun, physically engaging environment. We delighted in seeing children's eyes light up for all those incredible milestones, from the tentative first steps to tumbling down soft mats. Sharing the parents’ excitement at their children’s accomplishments was the high point of our day.
Picture this: In 1983, three fitness enthusiasts—Yacov, Susi Sherman, and Bill Caplin—redefined children's fitness by blending dance, gymnastics, and athletics. That's the birth of My Gym! Their mission: create a space just for kids—no more sharing mom's or dad's gym, but My Gym. With backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, and athletics, they crafted a unique fitness curriculum focused on non-competitive skill building for ages 6 weeks to 14 years. Fast forward: Cory and Monique turned My Gym into a franchise sensation in 1994. The success was undeniable, growing from 100 kids to over 400 in a year. Now a global phenomenon, My Gym is consistently ranked the #1 children's program worldwide.

Allison grew up in Ohio where she spent most of her time dancing. As she grew up so did her her commitment to dance and she started teaching classes to the younger dancers. She then went on to receive her BFA in Dance at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. After graduating she spent several summers at Cedar Point Amusement park in Ohio dancing and choreographing. She also spent a few years in Chicago Illinois where she taught dance. Allison moved to Orlando in 2019 and has been with My Gym Winter Garden since! While she’s not at the gym she likes to go to the beach, cook, play outside and hang out with her cats!
Sara was born and raised in Eldersburg, Maryland, but has called Orlando home for 10 years and My Gym home for over 8 years. After high school, summers were spent choreographing and directing musicals for a local theater company while also acting in their spotlight production. She graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor Degree in Theatre and Dance. After attending the Disney College Program she pursued her passion for performing by working for Disney, Nickelodeon and Universal. She has learned that teaching and working with children is the most fulfilling work for her! She has a new baby boy at home named Levi, and she will forever be watched over by her firstborn son David, who passed away at the age of 1 in 2022.
Kearra was born in Montana but has spent a majority of her life here in Florida. She is one of six kids, her three younger siblings showed her how much she loves teaching and helping children grow. As a former gymnast, she went on to coach recreational gymnastics at Orlando Metro Gymnastics. Kearra started at My Gym in January of 2023 and quickly fell in love with the entire establishment! Kearra is now a lead teacher and one of our gymnastics coaches here at My Gym! When not in the gym, you can find her at the beach, Disney or anywhere with nature and animals!
Michelle is a lead teacher, and has been with My Gym since the Summer of 2023. She’s from central Florida, back in the area after living 5 years out of state! Michelle has an Associate degree in Art from Seminole State College of Florida. She is an avid player of Pathfinder, Dungeons and Dragons, and other TTRPGs. While at home Michelle enjoys dance parties with her own kiddo and cuddling up with her kitties!
