My Gym was born out of our passion to teach children in a fun, physically engaging environment. We delighted in seeing children's eyes light up for all those incredible milestones, from the tentative first steps to tumbling down soft mats. Sharing the parents’ excitement at their children’s accomplishments was the high point of our day.

How We Started

Picture this: In 1983, three fitness enthusiasts—Yacov, Susi Sherman, and Bill Caplin—redefined children's fitness by blending dance, gymnastics, and athletics. That's the birth of My Gym! Their mission: create a space just for kids—no more sharing mom's or dad's gym, but My Gym. With backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, and athletics, they crafted a unique fitness curriculum focused on non-competitive skill building for ages 6 weeks to 14 years. Fast forward: Cory and Monique turned My Gym into a franchise sensation in 1994. The success was undeniable, growing from 100 kids to over 400 in a year. Now a global phenomenon, My Gym is consistently ranked the #1 children's program worldwide.

Jeremy HanewinckelOwner/Instructor/Birthday Host
Mr. Jeremy has worked at My Gym Yorba Linda for over 18 years now. Combining his love of sports and children My Gym and Mr. Jeremy was a match made in Heaven. Mr. Jeremy grew up playing every sport he could. It wasn't until an injury in college that rerouted his plans. Working at Disneyland he truly found his passion working with children. There he also met his wife Miss Janine (also works at My Gym). Mr. Jeremy left Disney and began teaching at My Gym Yorba Linda (formerly My Gym Anaheim Hills). Married for over 15 years and a 16 year old daughter Mr. Jeremy loves going to the movies, playing video games and teaching classes at My Gym Yorba Linda.

Hello everyone My name is Mr. Jeremy. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with my degree in Child and Adolescent Studies. I have been with My Gym Yorba Linda for over 12 years and Owner for almost 7 of those I have loved every minute of it. I grew up playing every sport and continue to play now. I love teaching and watching the children grow in every way. Looking forward to seeing you at the Gym!

Miss Janine comes to My Gym with a background in teaching. Having finished the credential program at CSUF she brings her knowledge and enjoyment for teaching to our My Gym Prep Program. Miss Janine loves seeing all the children learn their letters and shapes, but most of all she loves seeing their smiles each and every day. She also enjoy's running the Gym with her husband Mr Jeremy!
